A Message to NWTF Members about The HERO Foundation
To our NWTF friends and colleagues,
The National Wild Turkey Federation works with a wide variety of volunteers, corporations, government agencies and other conservation organizations to fulfill its mission of conserving the wild turkey and preserving our hunting heritage.
Today I want to alert you to a group with which the NWTF has no affiliation.
It has come to our attention that a man identifying himself as Air Force Major General Cullen has been contacting various NWTF chapters to sell "Warrior Candles," or "Hero Candles," to support an organization called The HERO Foundation. Mr. Cullen has also identified himself as "Dr. Cullen," and appeared at our national convention wearing a jacket with the two stars of an Air Force general officer and flight surgeon designation.
The NWTF does not endorse the activities of Mr. Cullen or The HERO Foundation. We do not have any type of agreement, either in writing or implied, in which Mr. Cullen or The HERO Foundation is authorized to participate at any level with the NWTF or its chapter system.
Information about a Gregory D. Cullen can be found on the P.O.W. Network Web site: http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies1006.htm.
Please disseminate this letter among all NWTF chapters.
Sincerely,
George Thornton
CEO NWTF
