Meet Our Volunteers
Women in the Outdoors would not be a success without the support of our local NWTF chapters and their outstanding volunteers.
Women all across North America have risen to the challenge by hosting or serving on a committee to launch a Women in the Outdoors event in their city.

Mary Free PhelpsLeitchfield, Ky.2010 Annie Oakley Award winner"Women in the Outdoors is just so fun. The ladies who come to hunt with me have become my friends, even the ones who drive from 90 miles away. They feel at home at my home, and that's such a great feeling."

Belinda "B" PrudhomeFrierson, La."If you have never attended a Women in the Outdoors event, you are cutting yourself short. Find or even host an event in your area — you will not regret it. The NWTF and Women in the Outdoors has given me way more than I can ever repay. I have memories that will stay with me until I take my last breath."
Pattie BingSapulpa, Okla."I wasn't a traditional outdoorswoman before getting involved with Women in the Outdoors. I was a girly-girl who didn't want to get dirty. But now I'm having fun, and that's all that matters to me. I think it is important that women don't put fences around our minds. You don't have to be the outdoorsy-type to enjoy Women in the Outdoors and the NWTF. Just get out there and try something new."
Katrina SkrapitsDanielsville, Pa."Every year, I return (to Women in the Outdoors events) because of the laughter, smiles and good times of the participants, instructors and helpers, and because of the knowledge, confidence and memories everyone takes home. I know these skills and memories will be passed down through generations and make a difference in the future."
Linda LayserMiddlebrook, Va."Women will experience new ways of exploring and enjoying the outdoors. They're taught by enthusiastic and caring instructors and have an opportunity to try activities that they may have thought were not available to them. Most importantly, they learn in an environment that is fun and not threatening."
Sherry HillMissouri"My first exposure to the Women in the Outdoors program was in 2002, when I saw an ad in the newspaper for an education seminar for ladies on outdoor skills. I attended the event, made new friends, joined the committee and have been an avid supporter of Women in the Outdoors ever since."
Leann BunnSpavinaw, Okla."My ultimate goals in partnering with the NWTF and Women in the Outdoors were to foster conservation and get women involved in the outdoors. Women are the mothers of our future in conservation, literally. They are the mothers of children, and children are our future." |
